Our glass igloo is located high above Isenthal on the Gitschenen sun terrace.
Far away from car noise and everyday stress, a place to relax awaits you - in the midst of nature with a magnificent view of the Uri Alps.
Our glass igloo stands on a wooden platform behind the Alpstubli.
Nestled in the idyllic landscape, shooting stars can be watched from your bed.

After booking, we will send you a detailed fact sheet with all the important information and the number code for your overnight stay in the glass igloo.
Check-out is by 11:00 a.m. at the latest
We ask you to lock all windows and the door and to leave the accommodation as you would like to find it.
Gitschenen , the car-free sun terrace high above the Isenthal, can be reached from St. Jakob by cable car or on foot. At the valley station Gitschenen cable car there are free parking spaces. The valley station can also be reached by post bus (note the timetable). ( Google Maps valley station St. Jakob-Gitschenen cable car )
The glass igloo is located next to the Alpstubli on Gitschenen at 1550 meters above sea level.
From St. Jakob (Isenthal) you have the following options to get to the glass igloo:
With the cable car: From St. Jakob the cable car takes you comfortably to Gitschenen. From the mountain station, a slightly uphill path leads in 3 minutes on foot to the Alpstubli, where the glass igloo is located.
Important! Please be sure to Operating hours of the cable car note! Cash payment applies ( prices ).
On foot: From St. Jakob, a steadily ascending hiking trail takes about 1½ hours to Gitschenen (approx. 580 meters of ascent!!).

You can indulge yourself directly in the Alpstübli with Cornelia Aschwanden! If you wish, you can easily book a fondue set to make your own and a delicious breakfast!
Dinner:
In the Alpstubli you can order the fondue set to make your own.
This includes a fine cheese fondue, bread, a bottle of white wine (0.5 litre) and a pot of hot herbal tea from Uri.
Price for 2 persons: CHF 75.00
All necessary crockery will of course be provided. The fondue can be enjoyed outdoors on the terrace (summer) or in the anteroom of the Alpstubli with radiant heater (winter only).
Breakfast:
In summer, breakfast can also be enjoyed daily in the Alpstubli. In winter, breakfast can be taken at the Berggasthaus Gitschenen.
This includes 2 drinks of your choice (coffee, tea, orange juice), croissants, bread rolls, jam, butter and alp cheese. On the day of rest, Cornelia will be happy to prepare a breakfast basket for you, which you can enjoy outside or in the glass igloo.

IMPORTANT: Please make reservations at least 2 days before arrival directly by e-mail to corneliaaschwanden@gmail.com. If you have a food allergy, gluten or lactose intolerance or similar, please inform us.
Other catering options:
It is possible to enjoy a 3-course menu for dinner at the Berggasthaus Gitschenen. The exact operating times can be found on the homepage. If you wish to book this meal option, please do so at least one day before arrival by e-mail gasthaus@gitschenen.ch or by telephone: 041 878 11 58.
Self-catering:
In summer: Wonderful public fireplace on the Gitschenen circular path (approx. 30 minutes walk from the Glasiglu). Spring water and wood are available.
Please bring your own crockery if necessary. There is no fridge available on site.
Please note that there are no shopping facilities on Gitschenen. There is a small village shop in Isenthal (note opening hours).
