A fire bowl with seating in front of the glass igloo invites you to linger after an eventful day.
The self-sufficient glass igloo is located just above Braunwald and can be reached in a 25-minute walk from the mountain station of the Braunwaldbahn.
For an extra touch of romance, there is the option of being driven from the mountain station to the glass igloo in Switzerland's first electric horse-drawn carriage. On the journey, you can enjoy a regional aperitif if you wish - a very special culinary experience!

Tourist taxes
All guests staying overnight in Braunwald must pay a tourist tax. This is a fee based on cantonal law and the respective municipal regulations.
Adults: CHF 1.90 per person per night
Children (6-16 years): CHF 0.95 per child per night
The tourist tax must be paid directly in cash or via Twint on site. Tourist tax forms are available in the Schopf. Please fill out the form after your stay and put it in an envelope in the relevant mailbox on site together with the total amount.

Braunwald , the car-free holiday resort in the southern Glarus region between 1200-1900 m above sea level, can be reached by funicular from Linthal with a connection to the SBB.
There are enough parking spaces at the valley station of the Braunwaldbahn (in Linthal) at reasonable rates. The GPS address of the valley station of the Braunwaldbahn is Stachelbergstrasse 2, 8783 Linthal. Please note: The Klausen Pass is closed in winter (open from around May to the beginning of November). The SBB train station is called "Linthal Braunwaldbahn".
The funicular runs from 05:55 to 23:55, at xx.25 and xx.55 – from 21:00 only at xx.55.
The Bubble Suite is located just above the village of Braunwald at about 1300 meters above sea level.
Arrival- Departure
Check-in is possible from 4:00 p.m.
After booking, you will receive a detailed fact sheet by email with important information and the number code for your overnight stay in the Bubble Suite. The Bubble Suite in Braunwald does not have its own reception.
Check-out must be made by 10:30 a.m. at the latest
We ask you to leave the accommodation as you would like to find it.
The journey from Linthal to Braunwald is made by funicular railway.
(Braunwald can be reached on foot from Linthal in 1½ to 2 hours. However, the path is quite steep, so we recommend arriving by funicular.)
From Braunwald you have the following options to get to the Bubble Suite:
Arrival on foot
From Braunwald, a slightly uphill path takes you to the Bubble Suite in about 30 minutes on foot. You will receive maps and detailed directions after booking.
Arrival by carriage
From Braunwald, a horse-drawn carriage is available upon prior reservation, which will take you directly to the Bubble Suite. As an additional option, the carriage ride can be booked with a regional aperitif. If you are interested, please enquire/book early.

Arriving by taxi
From Braunwald, a taxi is available upon prior reservation, which will take you comfortably to the glass igloo. If you would like to travel by taxi, please contact the transport company Schuler-Transporte in advance ( www.schuler-transporte.ch ).
The glass igloo is also easily accessible by (e-)bike . Bikes can be transported free of charge on the Braunwaldbahn and the Braunwald sports cable cars. In Braunwald it is possible to rent e-mountain bikes.

There are various restaurants in Braunwald. We particularly recommend the restaurant at the “Hotel Tödiblick” , which is a leisurely 10-minute walk away.

Note: Even in summer there can be cold nights. Free tip: Warm socks and a hat or headband for sleeping work wonders!

Please note that you are at about 1300 meters above sea level and it can get cold at any time of year. The weather can change quickly in the mountains and there may be occasional thunderstorms. We therefore recommend packing an extra sweater and pair of warm socks - true to the motto "you can always take off"!

frequently asked Questions
Are there any shopping facilities locally?
Braunwald has a village shop and the Schwettiberg-Lädeli. Information about opening times can be found here and here. The opening times are very limited, both shops are closed on Sundays! The shops are about 25-30 minutes walk from the glass igloo.
Due to the situation, we recommend bringing the necessary food from the valley.
What about sanitary facilities?
There are public toilets at the mountain station of the Braunwaldbahn. There is a composting toilet in the garden house on the Bubble Suite site. Toilet paper is of course available on site.
A simple washing facility for washing hands with soap is available behind the shed (no drinking water).
What activities are there in the nearby area?
Braunwald offers many different options for young and old.
The Bubble Suite is an ideal starting point for numerous outdoor activities such as scenic hikes through meadows and forests, climbing boulders, conquering via ferratas, scooter fun, mountain bike tours, snowshoe hikes amidst impressive mountains, sledding fun and much more.

How can I check in?
After booking, you will receive a detailed fact sheet by email with important information and the numeric code for your overnight stay in the Bubble Suite. There is no reception on site. Therefore, please read our fact sheet carefully before arrival. You can use the numeric code contained therein to move into the Bubble Suite from 4 p.m.
